How does the County advertise when there is an opening?
Job openings are listed here on the County website, on a bulletin board outside the Personnel Office, and are handed out to each County Department.  Additionally "help wanted" signs are posted outside of the department with the job current job opening.  Openings are also advertised at least once, in the designated County newspaper.  Currently that newspaper is the "Star-Herald".

What and when will I hear back about my application?
Your completed application will be screened by the Personnel Office, and if acceptable will be sent to the department with the opening for selection of candidates.  If you are a successful candidate, you will be contacted by phone, and an interview time and date will be set.  Unsuccessful interviewees, will receive a letter of notification.  Applicants who fail to come to scheduled interviews will not receive letters, as it will be implied that they are no longer interested in the postion.  This entire process will be completed as timely as possible, and usually occurs about a week after the closing date for applications.
