Juvenile Detention Center
Scotts Bluff County Detention Center will provide our detainees, professionals and the public with a safe, secure and well managed facility. Our detainees will be treated with respect, human dignity and will be offered programs to foster reintegration into society. We will continuously strive to make a difference in the lives of those we serve as governed by applicable standards.

Legacy Inmate Communications provides telecommunication services to the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center. Legacy Phone System Website.
- Residents are allowed (1) out-going call per evening to a parent or legal guardian.
- Family Members and Friends must set up a prepaid account through Legacy for detainee phone calls.

Family Involvement
We will involve the residents family in the following ways:
- Providing a setting for family visits
- Coordinating other family contacts
- Providing the family with orientation to our faiclity when possible
- Including the family in developing and implementing the care plan when possible
- Integrating the family into the care of the resident, when coordinated by DHHS-OJS, through regular communication and informal consultation which may include activities such as parent teachers conference, family meetings, teaching of specific behavior management techniques, parent education, or parent support groups
Rules for Visitors
Immediate family (parents, siblings, grandparents or legal guardians) may visit. Additional visitors may be added upon approval of Administrative staff. Visitors will be required to have the proper identification. They will be required to sign the Visitation rules. All personal items will be left in their vehicle or locker. We will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items. All visitors will be pat searched prior to the visit. No visit will be allowed if the person appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol or dress inappropriately. Visitors may be asked to leave if children are running around uncontrollably. You will have the opportunity to purchase a beverage and a snack in the lobby area.
The visit will be terminated if visitors (or residents) violate SBCDC rules and regulations.

- Approved items may be brought in for residents according to our level system
- Visitors may leave money or stamps Mon-Sun between the hours of 8a.m.-5p.m. with a supervisor
- All clothing and basic hygiene products will be privded by SBCDC
